Service on behalf Alateen

  • Al-Anon Members who would like to provide direct service to Alateens must complete the Area Certification process.  This simple process helps keep everyone safe, and provides a culture of trust for young people, their parents and Al-Anon members.
  • In addition to direct service Al-Anon members may do many things to support the young people in Al-Anon.  Be sure to contact your District Alateen Chair to find out what is needed to help support this vital link of service.

Prior to attending the FRESH event please read through the Area Safety and Behavioral Requirements and the Alateen Service eManual.  Links to both of these are located on our Alateen Page of the Area website.

Thank you all for your service to Alateen and to our Al-Anon Fellowship.  Together we can make it!

Al-Anon Members in Al-Anon Service (AMIAS) are the backbone of our Alateen program in the Area. These Al-Anon members agree to participate in training, background checks, and frequent contact with Area trusted servants so that information is current and up to date at all times.  Many AMIAS provide the necessary support to have Alateen meetings by being Alateen Group Sponsors, Alateen Group CMAs, Alateen Group Financial support (keeping the money), and attending meetings to keep the spaces safe for everyone.

In addition, members who would like to chaperone, drive or provide other support services at events with Alateens agree to go through this certification process.
