It has been an amazing journey. In 2018, our team dedicated over 60 hours of time, scanned over 2,000 pages of documents and captured 50 photos.
As a result, we will be moving from a 5’ by 10 ‘ to a 5’ by 5’ storage unit in 2019. Also, instead of being viewed by one archivist if they are asked to research something, these items are now accessible to all members of Al-Anon.
As we observed the devastation caused by Hurricane Michael in our Panhandle, it became even more clear how important our work to preserve the archives through digitizing continues to be.
Our story boards are safer now. Rather than being kept protected in plastic garbage bags, they are in portfolios.
These cases also make them easier to transport to events.
